Fireside Food for Cold Winter Months

Autumn and Winter brings an abundance of earthy mushrooms, brightly coloured squashes and the best of British apples, pears and plums.  Shorter days and darker nights let you indulge in comforting one pots, steaming soups, creamy gratins and indulgent puds.  The demonstrations will be full of warming dishes which are hearty but refined enough for entertaining. Lots of ideas and tips for Christmas as well.

As well as learning to cook new exciting recipes, I will teach essential kitchen skills including meat and vegetable cookery, baking and pastry.  With carefully selected dishes which have been tested many times the demonstration will put flavour first using beautiful seasonal ingredients to give you fuss free cooking for relaxed eating to share with family and friends.

Directions to North Park Farm

North Park Farm, Little Somborne, Stockbridge, Hampshire, SO20 6HW

  • From the east end of Stockbridge high street take the second turning at the first roundabout to Winchester and Romsey. At the second roundabout take the first turning on to the B3049 signed to Winchester.
  • After turning on to the B3049 out of Stockbridge you will drive up a long hill – you go three-quarters of a mile up this hill and then turn right.
  • The turning to the right is not easy to find, so here are some pointers:

On this hill you initially pass houses on either side and you leave the 30mph zone to the national speed limit. You then pass some signs about horses crossing and shortly after that a wooden fence appears on your right hand side.

Not long after this, as you reach the brow of the hill, ahead of you on the left there is a sign with an exclamation mark on it (“pedestrians crossing”).

The single track road you need to turn right onto is before this sign.

You have gone too far if:

You reach the exclamation mark sign

You reach a small car park on your right.

  • Driving down this single track road go past a couple of houses left and right at the top of the hill. Continue downhill past a large track entrance next to a cottage until the road flattens out at the bottom of the hill and follow the signs for parking. It will signed to the right.
